#REALWEDDING: STEPH & TARX
PALM BEACH, NSW • 27 APRIL 2018 • 100 GUESTS
ON THE DRESS
"Two and a half weeks before our wedding day at Karen Willis Holmes in Alexandria, I was able to choose a dress off-the-rack and was relieved I had something to wear—with so little time before the big day I was starting to radiate some nervous energy! The staff were excellent and made the experience an enjoyable one and one that I won't soon forget."
ON THE VIBE
"We wanted to create a relaxed but sophisticated feel that encouraged our friends and family to mingle, dance and celebrate all together. Our speeches were short and sweet, we were more interested in dancing the night away and celebrating with our loved ones."
"We didn’t necessarily believe that anything would fundamentally change after our vows were made and the cake was cut, but it was important to us that we shared our love and commitment with our family and friends—that the people we loved most in our lives were there to witness our love and share in our story."
ON THE VENUE
“We wanted a venue that reflected our style, where our guests could enjoy a stunning view and dance under the stars, surrounded by water – and we found just that at The Boathouse in Palm Beach. It was far enough away that our family and friends could enjoy a break from the city but didn’t require a logistical feat.”
3 WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE DAY...
"Love-filled. Joyous. Carefree."
"The wonderful team at The Boathouse Palm Beach took so much of the stress away from coordinating the reception and ran the day seamlessly, Greg and our band were awesome and kept the party going all night, and our insanely talented photographers Corinna & Dylan kept us at ease throughout and captured our day perfectly!"
"Most of our wedding was non-traditional. We were married outdoors by the water, outside of the tradition of the church, joined in matrimony by a great friend who became a celebrant purely to play this important role on our day. We were more concerned with involving everyone than following tradition. We made our own traditions, set our own agenda for the day, and for that reason, it was our day, and it was perfect."
"I think it would have to be our gold tinsel dance floor. It took a whole day to erect but in the end, it completely made the room. Everyone was dancing with the tinsel as it started to litter the floor throughout the night, and it reflected beautifully off the festoon lights."
"It’s hard to choose just one—there were so many moments that, collectively, made our wedding day so meaningful and memorable. Most importantly though was the reason for being there, the very reason we had to join our family and closest friends together, to witness our vows—our commitment to creating and growing a life together."
WORDS OF WISDOM
"Make the day about you and your partner—if you feel passionately about a certain theme or venue then stand by your decision and don’t be swayed by interested parties. While everyone has an opinion, it’s yours that matters most and no one knows you as a couple like you do."
